摘要:全光学装置成功的关键是材料的选择与开发。此类材料必须具备足够高的非线性折射率和亚皮秒级的响应时间。在这方面光学玻璃具有较大的优势和潜力。对不同玻璃系统进行的旨在提高玻璃非线性光学折射率的研究结果表明,材料的非线性折射率n2大致随其线性折射率n0的增加而提高,通常认为,低折射率玻璃的非线性光学效应主要受阴离子极化的影响,而网络形成和调整阳离子的作用可忽略不计。与此相反,当易极化的阳离子浓度增加到一定值时,则阳离子的极化对非线性光学效应的影响将起主导作用。
The realization of all-optic devices depends largely on the finding of suitable materials. Such a material must possess sufficient nonlinear behavior to operate at convenient light intensities and wavelengths and have a temporal response in the picosecond or less range. In this context optical glasses have a number of advantages. Different glass systems are now under investigations by introducing a variety of modifiers into the glass network to increase their nonlinearity, which was initially directed by the observed correlation between high linear index of refraction and large nonlinear effects. Oxide glasses with large refractive indices seem to be the most promising. For examples, tellurite glasses and oxide glasses incorporating high concentrations of heavy metals exhibit a high third-order nonlinear susceptibility of the order of 10 12 .
