摘要:beta-FeOOH particles were prepared by forced hydrolysis of FeCl3 center dot 6H(2)O in microemulsion containing polyoxyethylene nonylphenylether (NP-4), octane and water. The samples were characterised using XRD and TEM. The effects of the molar ratio of water to NP-4 R, initial Fe3+ concentration and pH of the system on the morphology and size of the nanoparticles are discussed. The results show that the acidity and size of 'water pool' and the initial Fe3+ concentration are the main factors that affect the morphology of beta-FeOOH particles. It is found that the optimum conditions for synthesising acicular beta-FeOOH is R=6 center dot 0, [Fe3+] = 0 center dot 02 mol L-1 within the pH range 1 center dot 6-2 center dot 0. The crystal structure of as synthesised acicular beta-FeOOH belongs to the monoclinic system with lattice parameters a=0 center dot 9981 nm, b=0 center dot 2948 nm, c=1 center dot 0485 nm, beta=92 center dot 26 degrees.
