摘要:This study presents a blade fatigue damage analysis method applicable to floating offshore wind turbines (FOWT) combining a numerical simulation of the turbine with finite element analysis (FEA) of the blade. The primary focus is on blade fatigue damage of FOWTs caused by extreme wind conditions, such as a typhoon. Based on field observation of wind speeds, the natural wind model is established for normal and extreme wind conditions. Time series from the two types of wind conditions are then used as input file for simulations with the in-house software Loose. Normal wind loads and extreme wind loads are then applied on NREL 5MW blade model in FEA software. The FEA results indicate that the extreme wind model, which yields extra extreme wind speed time series, leads to significantly higher wind loads and severe blade fatigue damage. ? 2024 by the International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE).
