摘要:近年来,发达国家频繁利用绿色贸易壁垒保护本国产业,并逐渐强化了对供应链环境社会责任的审查,这给我国企业参与全球供应链带来了较大挑战。本文采用2009—2022年中国上市公司供应商-客户关系的面板数据,考察了绿色贸易壁垒在国内供应链上的传导效应。研究发现,在客户受到绿色贸易壁垒的冲击后,供应商的绿色创新水平显著提升。机制检验表明,绿色贸易壁垒不仅使得客户通过提高环境标准,倒逼上游供应商加强绿色创新,产生环境标准提升效应,而且供应商也能从客户那里获得知识溢出,提高绿色创新能力,带来绿色知识溢出效应。异质性分析发现,重污染行业和非国有供应商更有可能在绿色贸易壁垒的影响下实现绿色创新水平提升;较低的融资约束及政府环保补助的获取有助于供应商企业应对绿色贸易壁垒,提高绿色创新水平;在客户无海外子公司、供应商-客户合作年限较短的供应关系中,绿色贸易壁垒会产生更明显的传导效应,促进供应商加大绿色创新力度。而且,本文发现在绿色贸易壁垒实施后,供应商的绿色创新有助于降低供应链中断风险,并增加了供应商参与国际市场的可能。本文研究结论表明,着力推进供应链绿色转型,是变挑战为机遇,全面提升我国产业链供应链国际竞争力的重要途径。
In recent years,developed countries have increasingly employed green barriers to trade(GBT)to protect their domestic industries.These barriers have intensified scrutiny regarding environmental and social responsibility within supply chains,posing significant challenges for Chinese enterprises pursuing greater participation in the global supply chain.Using panel data on supplier-customer relationships among China's A-share listed companies from 2009 to 2022,this paper examines the supply chain transmission effect of CBT.We find that suppliers'green innovation levels significantly improve when customers are affected by GBT.The mechanism analysis indicates that such barriers compel customers to improve environmental standards,pressuring upstream suppliers to intensify green innovation efforts,leading to an environmental standard improvement effect.Additionally,suppliers gain knowledge spillovers from customers,enhancing their green innovation capabilities and resulting in a green knowledge spillover effect.Furthermore,heterogeneity analysis reveals that heavy-polluting industries and non-state-owned suppliers are more likely to improve their green innovation levels under the influence of GBT.Lower financing constraints and access to government environmental protection subsidies also assist suppliers in overcoming barriers and improving their green innovation levels.Moreover,supply relationships where customers have no overseas subsidiaries or where the supplier-customer cooperation period is short,GBT have a more pronounced transmission effect,prompting suppliers to increase their green innovation efforts.Finally,the results indicate that after the implementation of GBT,suppliers'green innovation reduces the risk of supply chain disruptions while simultaneously increasing their potential for greater participation in the international market.The findings of this study demonstrate that promoting the green transformation of China's supply chains is crucial for converting challenges into opportunities and for comprehensively enhancing the international competitiveness of the country's industrial and supply chains.
