摘要:Using activated carbon as catalyst and water as reducing agent, the reduction of hexamminecobalt (III) to hexamminecobalt (II) was achieved to maintain the capability of removing NO with the hexamminecobalt solution. The experiments were performed in a stirred cell to study the intrinsic kinetics of the hexamminecobalt (III) reduction over activated carbon. All the experiments were conducted without the influence of diffusion. The experimental results show that activated carbon catalyzes such reaction greatly. The reaction rate increases with the dosage of activated carbon and the concentration of hexamminecobalt (III). pH value is an important factor that affecting the reaction. A best [Co (NH3)6]3+ conversion is gained at pH of 2.74 and a high temperature is favorable to such reaction. The experiments indicate that the reaction rate is first order with respect to [Co (NH3)6]3+, with the activation energy Ea = (64.62±2.06) kJ/mol.
