摘要：In the past 40 years of reform and opening up, China's higher education and campus construction have made historic achievements. This paper reviews the history of this process in the 40 years, while summarises the characteristics and requirements of current new campus by comparing multiple new campuses in China. The paper uses East China University of Science and Technology as an example, to analysis the problems of neglecting the regional characteristics and far-fetched embodiment of university culture. This paper puts forward the concept of using regional characteristics to strengthen university culture, and unfolds in natural features, evolution process and farming habits within two specific plots. ? 2019 The Authors, published by EDP Sciences.
