摘要：舍伍德?安德森的著名作品《鸡蛋的胜利》主要讲述了“我”父母试图养鸡以发家致富,却接连失败的故事。而其中“鸡蛋”与“鸡”的象征意义是许多学者一直津津乐道的话题。本文首先借助知网总结国内学界对《鸡蛋的胜利》中“鸡蛋”与“鸡”的象征意义研究,然后结合相关研究提出自己的见解与看法。经过研究,本文认为《鸡蛋的胜利》中“鸡蛋”主要有四重象征意义:美国梦,未知的命运,商业化的社会以及生命的循环。本文的研究可为日后学界对于《鸡蛋的胜利》乃至舍伍德?安德森的作品研究提供参考与借鉴。
The Triumph of the Egg by Sherwood Anderson was a story about “my” parents’ failure to become rich by raising chickens. And the symbolic meaning of “eggs” and “chickens” never fails to fascinate. This essay firstly reviews the academic research in China on the symbolic meaning of “eggs” and “chickens” through CNKI. And then the essay puts forward its own opinion and view. After research this essay argues that “eggs” and “chickens” mainly have meaning of American dream, uncertain fate, commercialized society and life cycle. This research could provide a reference for the academic research on The Triumph of the Egg and Sherwood Anderson’s works in the future.
