摘要:NOVELTY - Synthesis of substituted diphenylamine comprises heating substituted aniline compound and substituted iodobenzene compound to carry out coupling reaction in organic solvent and in the presence of catalytic amount of copper compound, nitrogen-containing ligand and alkali; and hydrolyzing using an acid or alkali to obtain the product. USE - Synthesis of substituted diphenylamine (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The synthesis has lower cost, moderate reaction condition and higher yield compared to conventional method, thus making it suitable for commercial production. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Synthesis of substituted diphenylamine of formula (I) comprises heating substituted aniline compound of formula (II) and substituted iodobenzene compound of formula (III) to carry out coupling reaction in organic solvent and in the presence of catalytic amount of copper compound, nitrogen-containing ligand and alkali; and hydrolyzing using an acid or alkali to obtain the product. R1, R2=o,m,p-CH3, o,m,p-OCH3, o,m,p-NH2 or o,m,p-halo; and R=MeO, EtO, Ph, H or Me.
