摘要:This study considers the optimization of aeration operations of a challenging benchmark wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), described by the Benchmark Simulation Model 1 (BSM1). The objective is to minimize aeration energy cost while maintaining effluent quality within regulation-specified limits. For this study, the optimization model based on BSM1 was developed using the AMPL language and IPOPT nonlinear programming (NLP) solver. Optimal air volume and the corresponding dissolved oxygen (DO) setpoint were obtained at steady state conditions. Finally, optimal dynamic aeration operations were obtained under dry weather conditions, using an efficient nonlinear programming strategy. This result showed significant improvements over conventional strategies based on setpoints alone. ? 2011 IFAC.
