摘要：本文从四个方面对比英汉关系分句:(1)英汉关系分句标记与位置;(2)作为定语化的结果,英语NP的关系代词与汉语NP的接应代词的使用是可比的;(3)通过对中国大学生英语作文量化统计,进一步证实了Kuno有关英语关系分句难度排列顺序的假设,为EFL中国学生在关系分句的教与学方面提供了理论依据;(4)现代英语句法结构上存在着一种移向前位的趋向,大量前置句子型修饰语应运而生,在形式上与汉语包孕句趋同。
This paper devotes 4 parts to a contrastive study on the relative clauses in English and Chinese. （1） The grammatical mark and position of relative clauses in English and Chinese. （2） As a result of attribufivization, English relative pronouns and Chinese resumptive pronouns bear much comparability in terms of use. （3） A quantitative analysis of English compositions written by Chinese university students hears out Kuno＇s hypothesis on the difficult degree of English relative clauses and sheds light on the pedagogic implication. （4） The tendency of syntactic switch to frontal position in modem English results in the frequent use of sentence premodifiers which are quite similar to Chinese embedded sentences in form.
