摘要:The heat transfer, pressure drops characteristics of the helically coiled tubes heat exchanger with grooves (HCTHEG) are examined experimentally. The experiment results are compared with the ordinary helically coiled tubes heat exchanger (HCTHE). The uncertainty analysis of the experiment is discussed. The overall heat transfer coefficient of the HCTHEG is higher than that of the HCTHE at a level of a lower flow rate of the cooling water. The heat transfer coefficient on the condensing side was determined by using the Wilson plot method. The results show that grooves enhance the heat transfer of shell side in HCTHEG. Moreover, the pressure drops in the tube side are verified with the empirical correlations. The maximum relative error is no greater than 24%. In the shell side of HCTHE and HCTHEG, the flow resistance of air is studied. The grooves could significantly increase the pressure drops. The simplified correlations to predict the single-phase friction factor of the shell side are proposed. Additionally, employing the effectiveness as a comprehensive criterion, the performance of HCTHEG could reach 1.23 times that of HCTHE. ? 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.
