摘要：NOVELTY - Gemini surfactant comprises biphenyl group containing quaternary ammonium compound (I). USE - The gemini surfactant is useful for film-forming crystal applications. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Gemini surfactant comprises biphenyl group containing quaternary ammonium compound of formula (I). R1-R4 = group that is sterically larger than hydrogen substituent; and X = halo. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparing gemini surfactant, comprising: reacting biphenyl group compound of formula (II) and nitrogen compound of formula (R2-N(R4)-R3) in tetrahydrofuran solvent at room temperature, and performing distillation of the mixture under reduced pressure and then recrystallizing.
