摘要：本研究调查了我国112所高校英语专业毕业论文的操作情况。调查结果显示,大部分学校英语专业本科生毕业论文在启动时间、字数、撰写语种、答辩要求和答辩时间五个方面有一定的共性认识和较为规范的操作,但也有部分院校对毕业论文重视不够,操作欠规范。在调查结果的基础上,本文对英语专业毕业论文的操作提出了建议,强调本科生论文写作的意义在于提高本科生的综合能力,目的是让学生学习科学研究的态度和方法,关键是培养学生创新的精神和勇气。
This paper attempts to present an overview of how English majors write their graduation theses. A survey covering 112 universities and colleges shows that most students share a certain degree of common knowledge and obey certain norms in terms of start-up time, word count, working language, requirement and duration of thesis defense. Based on the findings, this paper argues that the significance of graduation thesis writing for undergraduates lies in enhancing integrated abilities, learning about the right attitude, appropriate method for scientific research and cultivating the courage for innovation on the part of the students.
