摘要:A simple equation of state for liquids which combines the modified Rackett equation with a correlation of thermal pressure coefficients is proposed. This equation can predict the density of liquids at any pressure below the critical temperature, including the neighbourhood of critical point. The average absolute deviation between calculated and experimental densities for 2012 data points of 25 liquids, both polar and nonpolar, is 0.43% over the entire range of published data with a maximum pressure of 503 MPa and a maximum reduced temperature of 0.9971. Only the critical temperature and pressure and the saturated molar volume at one temperature for normal liquids in the region away from the critical point are needed for the calculation. More data are needed near the critical point or for strongly polar liquids. The other possible equations of state obtained in this way are also discussed.
