摘要:The objective of this paper is to report some recent progress and understanding of the impression creep test with a rectangular indenter and to further clarify the nature of the associated data conversion relationships. Firstly, the advantage of adopting a rectangular indenter is clarified. Then, a mechanics-based, data conversion approach based on the reference stress method, is briefly introduced. Recent progress on constant load and stepped load impression creep tests is reported, and the latest work on conversion parameters correction due to geometry change and loading misalignments is presented. Finally, comments and recommendations on the theoretical basis, applicability, and limitation of the test method to material status ranking, material properties derivation, hardness correlation, life assessment are given. The latest progress on the standardization of the test method is addressed. ? 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.
