摘要:High cycle fatigue behavior of FGH96 alloy inertia friction welded joint under axially push-pull cyclic loading was studied at 650 & DEG;C. Results showed fatigue strength of welded joint was comparable to pure base metal. Larger grain size, more twin boundaries and high angle grain boundaries induced a higher crack initiation potential at the base metal. Interior crack initiation was dominant while it was transferred from large facet, to twin-assisted facet, and finally to inclusion with stress level decreasing. The Z-parameter model was applied to fatigue life prediction in the case of facet-induced crack initiation for the first time, and good agreement was obtained between prediction and experimental data.
