0.1Objective: To look for pulse features with physiological and pathological significance and open a new research clue on pulse recognition in TCM.Methods: 337 cases were collected, including 129 cases of wiry pulse,93 cases of plain pulse and 115 cases of slippery pulse. All of the pulse conditions were analyzed by harmonic analysis to evaluate the features of wave velocity and reflection coefficient of plain pulse, wiry pulse and slippery pulse on the basis of hemodynamic principles. Results: The range of wave velocity(v) of wiry pulse was v≥13.241 m/s,the plain pulse was 5.64≤v≤9.742 m/s,and the majority of slippery pulse was 4.3≤v≤10 m/s.The range of reflection coefficient(R) of wiry pulse was R≥0.75,the majority of plain pulse was 0.4≤R≤0.7,and the majority of slippery pulse was 0.1R≤0.45.Conclusion: There lies a law in the distribution of wave velocity and reflection coefficient of plain pulse, wiry pulse and slippery pulse, and the wave velocity and reflection coefficient has connection with the blood vessel elasticity, viscosity of blood, peripheral resistance and other physiological parameters, thus the wave velocity and reflection coefficient can be considered as features of pulse with physiological and pathological significance for distinguishing pulses.
