摘要:NOVELTY - Indene derivative (I) is new. USE - Indene derivative (I) used as high selectivity ethylene trimerization catalyst for polymerization of alpha -olefins i.e. ethylene, propylene, and/or 1-hexene (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The compound (I) reduces industrial cost and satisfies industrial requirement. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Indene derivative of formula (I) is new. R1 and R2=1-12C, straight, branched or cyclic alkyl, or linked two 4-12C cyclic alkyl; R3-R5=H or 1-12C straight chain, branched chain, or cyclic alkyl, or SiH3; X=halo; and A=O, S or Se. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of compound (I) comprising reacting indene derivative of formula (II) with alkyl alkali metal compound in organic medium under inert gas protection at - 78-25 degrees C for 2-48 hours, adding titanium tetrachloride, draining solvent, washing remaining solid with organic solvent, dissolving, filtering, and recrystallizing filtrate. The alkyl alkali metal is 1-4 carbon alkyllithium, preferably butyllithium.
