摘要:Glyphosate, as a non-selective, non-volatile, low-residue organophosphorus herbicide, has always been controversial about its neurotoxicity. In this study, the neurotoxicity of glyphosate was analyzed from four aspects: gene regulation, protein expression, morphological changes, and behavioral changes, and the effects of glyphosate on the development of the zebrafish nervous system and its neurotoxicity were evaluated. Zebrafish embryos at 6hpf after fertilization were exposed to glyphosate until 72hpf and 120hpf. After exposure, it was found that the central nervous development-related gene Elavl3 was down-regulated, and GAP-43, Neurog1, and GFAP were up-regulated. The expression of HuC protein, which maintains neuronal axon homeostasis, was significantly down-regulated, and the expression of GFAP protein, which is used to repair nervous system injury and inflammation, was significantly up-regulated. With the regulation of genes and proteins, zebrafish larvae showed abnormal changes in the development of a series of nervous systems, such as slowing heart rate, shortening of somites, and spinal and brain malformations. At the same time, the total duration of zebrafish at low and high speeds was significantly reduced, and the response to dark-light environment stimulation was delayed. In summary, studies have shown that glyphosate exposure may induce damage and inflammation of the zebrafish nervous system, resulting in developmental malformations, abnormal motor behavior, and potential neurotoxicity. This study shows that the neurotoxicity and environmental risks of glyphosate to aquatic animals should be highly considered. ? 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.
