摘要:NOVELTY - Preparing water-based titanium dioxide involves modifying surface of titanium oxide by dispersing 300 pts. wt. titanium oxide powder in 1000 pts. wt. water, stirring, adding 1.5 pts. wt. dispersant, dispersing resulting titanium oxide slurry at high speed on high-speed disperser to obtain mono dispersed titanium oxide slurry. The 3 pts. wt. silane coupling agent is weighed and diluted with 20 pts. wt. anhydrous ethanol. The silane coupling agent in ethanol solution slowly added to titanium oxide slurry, dropped 10% ammonia to adjusted pH value of slurry to 8-9. USE - Method for preparing water-based titanium dioxide (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables to prepare water-based highly dispersible titanium dioxide which has high dispersibility. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing water-based titanium dioxide involves modifying surface of titanium oxide by dispersing 300 pts. wt. titanium oxide powder in 1000 pts. wt. water, stirring, adding 1.5 pts. wt. dispersant, dispersing resulting titanium oxide slurry at high speed on high-speed disperser to obtain mono dispersed titanium oxide slurry. The 3 pts. wt. silane coupling agent is weighed and diluted with 20 pts. wt. anhydrous ethanol. The silane coupling agent in ethanol solution slowly added to titanium oxide slurry, dropped 10% ammonia to adjusted pH value of slurry to 8-9, heated titanium oxide slurry at 80 degrees C, filtered, and dried to obtain titanium oxide powder, where coupling agent is one or more of vinyltriethoxysilane, vinyltrimethoxysilane and gamma -(methacryloyloxy) propyltrimethoxysilane, titanium oxide powder is pigment grade anatase titanium oxide, and dispersant is sodium acrylate. The titanium oxide powder is dispersed in 1000 pts. wt. of acetonitrile on high speed disperser, added mixture of 20 pts. wt. initiator azobisisobutyronitrile and 20 pts. wt. ethylene glycol dimethacrylate and 45 pts. wt. alpha -methacrylic acid to obtain mixed monomer, and above-mentioned titanium oxide slurry is dispersed with acetonitrile which is heated at 75 degrees C, added 0.3 pts. wt. initiator azobisisobutyronitrile to titanium oxide slurry, and reaction is initiated for 5 minutes. The mixed monomer is slowly added to titanium oxide acetonitrile slurry, and addition time is controlled for 2-5 hours, and filtered to obtain titanium oxide filter cake. The filter cake is dried without directly applied to aqueous system.
