摘要:Fructus carotae (Nan Heshi in Chinese) has been used as an insecticidal, pain-relief, antiphlogistic drug and vermifugum in traditional Chinese herbal medicines for a long time. To evaluate the quality of Fructus carotae, a sensitive, simple and accurate liquid chromatographic (LC) method was developed for the determination of two main bioactive compounds, namely asarone and asaryladehyde. The chromatographic separation was performed on an Agilent SB-C18 column (250 × 4.6 mm, 5.0 μm) with a gradient elution program using a mixture of acetonitrile and redistilled water (v/v) as mobile phase within 30 min at 237 nm wavelength. The two compounds showed good linear relation (R 2 > 0.999) in the range of 0.082-74.3 μg mL -1 for asaryladehyde and 0.703-87.639 μg mL-1 for asarone. The recovery of the method was in the range of 95.9%-103.7%. Nine Fructus carotae samples from different regions of China were analyzed to establish the effectiveness of the method.
