摘要：美国诗人兼翻译家大卫·杨《杜甫:诗的一生》是一部关于杜甫诗歌的最新译作,受到英语读者的好评。译者力求尽可能传达杜甫的独特声音和人文精神,采用"折中"的策略,主要体现在博采众长、诗传结合;双行体诗,意象突出;显化典故,添加注释评论,对中国古典诗歌的海外译介和文化资本的传播有借鉴作用。
The latest translation of Du Fu＇s poetry, Du Fu：Life in Poetry, by American poet-translator David Young is well-received by English readers. The poet-translator has tried, to the extent realizable, to reproduce Du Fu＇s idiosyncratic voice and humanistic spirit in terms of ＂midway＂ strategy, which is embodied in the following three aspects： drawing on the successful experience of the previous translators and incorporating biography into poems; rendering the original in English as poems in the form of couplets filled with striking images; making allusion explicit with annotation. This strategy sheds light on the translation of Chinese classical poetry and circulation of cultural capital.
