摘要:Crystallization is an important process in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. In this work, we report a study to create the zinc-free crystals of bovine insulin on a flow-free droplet-based platform we previously developed. The benefit of this platform is its promise to create a single type of crystals under a simpler and more stable environment and with a high throughput. The experimental result shows that the bovine insulin forms a rhombic dodecahedra shape and the coefficient variation (CV) in the size of crystals is less than 5%. These results are very promising for the insulin production.
