摘要:It is crucial of how pain transitions from acute to chronic for patients. Except the clinical approach, there is an increasingly need for a quantitative and predictive method to evaluate how pain trajectories are classified and how we can more effectively intervene. In this study, we use a computational hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal(HPA) model to simulate pain trajectories. The result shows that different cortisol level can express various situation of acute, manic-style pain and intermittent pain pattern. Also, we can construct a good pain trajectory not only for an individual patient, but also for a group of patients. These results show the feasibility and the potential of developing such a mathematical model for patient evaluations.
