摘要:NOVELTY - Pyridine derivatives (A), which are pyridinium salts (I) and 1,4-dihydropyridine derivatives (II), are new. USE - (A) are useful: in biochemical reactions to replace natural nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide/reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide redox system; and as electron carrier in enzymatic fuel cells energy transfer. ADVANTAGE - (A): have simple preparation method having high product yield; and are easy to isolate and purify. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Pyridine derivatives (A), which are pyridinium salts of formula (I) and 1,4-dihydropyridine derivatives of formula (II), are new. A = halo or trifluoromethanesulfonic acid anion; R1, R3 = H or 1-3C alkyl; R2 = -C(=X)R5; R4 = phenyl (optionally substituted with halo or 2-methoxyethoxy); X = O or S; and R5 = 1-3C alkoxy or amino. Provided that: R2 and R3 are connected together with divalent carbonyl group to form 5 or 6-membered nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparation of (A).
