摘要:In this chapter, we explore the critical role of separation and purification processes in the biorefinery of agricultural and food biomass. Biorefinery, a vital concept for advancing the bioeconomy, involves converting biomass into value-added products through sustainable and efficient technologies. Separation processes are fundamental in achieving high-purity outputs, which are essential for the economic feasibility of biorefinery operations. The chapter presents an in-depth examination of the various separation techniques used, highlighting their importance in isolating bioactive compounds, proteins, and other valuable components from agri-food biomass. The integration of efficient separation methods with other biorefinery operations can significantly improve product quality, increase yields, and lower production costs.
