摘要:In this paper, a general theory of the relativistic asymptotic third-order geometric and first-order chromatic aberrations of a system of combined electrostatic-magnetostatic focusing-deflection sub-systems has been presented, in which relativistic asymptotic aberrations of position and slope of the sub-system, and addition formulae for these asymptotic aberrations of two successive subsystems have been derived. All their aberration coefficients contain no derivative higher than second order. The divergence in Hawkes' theory of asymptotic aberrations has been thoroughly voided. The limitation of equality of object- and image-side asymptotic focal lengths in Hawkes' theory has been erased.
