摘要:Objective: We examine the association between the 20-m shuttle run test and physical fitness in a large nationwide sample of Chinese children and adolescents aged 7-18 years. Methods: A total of 85,535 children and adolescents (43,902 boys and 41,633 girls) were enrolled in this study. We measured height, weight, waist circumference (WC), grip strength, standing long jump, 30-s sit-ups, sit and reach, 50-m dash, 20-s repeated straddling, and 20-m shuttle run test. Body mass index (BMI) was calculated as weight/height(2). VO(2)max/kg and VO2max were calculated from the 20-m shuttle run test using the model developed by L & eacute;ger et al. Pearson correlation and multiple regression analyses were conducted for the analysis. Results: Correlations between parameters (age, height, weight, BMI, WC, grip strength, standing long jump, 30-s sit-ups, sit and reach, 50-m dash, 20-s repeated straddling) were significant (p < 0.05). The results of multiple regression analysis showed that 20-m shuttle run test, VO2max/kg, and VO2max were significantly correlated with age, height, weight, BMI, WC, grip strength, standing long jump, 30-s sit-ups, sit and reach, 50-m dash, and 20-s repeated straddling in Chinese children and adolescents. Conclusions: The present study shows associations between 20-m shuttle run test and physical fitness of Chinese children and adolescents. Hence, the 20-m shuttle run test can be a feasible tool for population physical fitness surveillance and inform policy-making and public health planning. Further studies are needed to further elucidate the relationships between 20-m shuttle run test and physical fitness, providing references for physical fitness screening.
