摘要：The overall viewing landscape composed of heritage sites and their surrounding environments, which can be observed by people in their daily lives within historic urban areas, represents an important manifestation of heritage value. Managing and controlling the viewing landscape in historic urban areas will become a crucial approach for the living transmission of this value. The "changes" brought about by current urban renewal efforts are inevitably going to impact the viewing landscapes of historic urban areas. This paper starts with the research background, reviewing existing studies on visual assessment and viewing landscapes both domestically and internationally. Building on this foundation, it elaborates on the connotation of viewing landscapes in historic urban areas and, taking Wuxi City as an example, proposes integrating the viewing landscapes of historic urban areas into the existing historical and cultural protection management system. Subsequently, it develops a dynamic management approach encompassing inventory, identification, and administration of viewing landscapes in historic urban areas, and finally puts forward a stratified and tiered management strategy. The study aims to construct a management framework for viewing landscapes in historic urban areas with local characteristics, in order to address the impacts of urban renewal changes on heritage value and achieve a win-win situation between heritage conservation and urban development ?
