USE - Method for preparing 2-Methyl-2-aryl-propyl carboxylate derivative (claimed) used as pharmaceutical intermediate. ADVANTAGE - The 2-methyl-2-aryl-propyl carboxylate derivative (I) preparation method is simple. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - 2-Methyl-2-aryl-propyl carboxylate derivative (I) preparation involves performing Friedel-Crafts alkylation reaction between aromatic hydrocarbon and carboxylate derivative (II) in presence of mixed catalyst. Ar=phenyl or naphthyl (both electron donating group substituted), electron donating group substituted 7-membered heterocyclyl containing N or O optionally fused with O containing benzo ring or heteroaryl; and R=1-6C alkyl.
