摘要:Carbon quantum dots (CDs) have emerged as environmentally benign corrosion inhibitors; however, their integration into coating systems remains insufficiently explored. In this study, a multifunctional epoxy coating incorporating CDs was developed, exhibiting combined anti-corrosion, self-warning, self-healing, and antibacterial properties. Unlike conventional coatings that typically provide a single function, the proposed system not only offers effective corrosion protection but also enables Fe3+-responsive fluorescence quenching, allowing real-time monitoring of coating damage. Under near-infrared (NIR) irradiation, the photothermal effect of CDs induces localized heating, which enhances polymer chain mobility and facilitates autonomous healing of microcracks. In addition, the coating demonstrates significant antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas cupris, attributed to electrostatic interactions and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation. This work expands the functional applications of carbon quantum dots in protective coatings and provides a promising strategy for the design of intelligent, multifunctional anticorrosion systems.
