摘要:A failure analysis is carried out in this paper for hydrogenation pipelines to determine fracture mechanisms of triplet pipes suffered from the interaction of corrosion and thermal fatigue loading. Two cases of pipelines in a petrochemical plant are given to show the situation of converging fluid at main pipe of triplet by warm and cold lines. Two pieces of triplets taken from the pipelines respectively as samples for failure analysis are performed to investigate the materials' properties and fracture appearances. A finite element method is introduced to analyze the fluid velocity and temperature distribution of pipes. The results show that the main cause of failure is due to the alternative thermal stress produced by cold fluid entering main warm pipe with flesh hydrogen.
