摘要:Molecular surveillance systems such as PulseNet, CaliciNet, and CryptoNet have played a major role in surveillance and investigation of infectious diseases and public health security in the United States.They improve the identification and investigation of foodborne, waterborne, person-to-person, and zoonotic outbreaks;promote the surveillance of endemic diseases and emerging infectious pathogens;and promote real -time sharing of surveillance data and collaborations in prevention and control of infectious diseases among various federal, state, and local agencies and between epidemiologists and laboratorians.This is best demonstrated by the success of PulseNet,which has been adopted by 87 public health laboratories in the United States and 83 member countries around the world in the investigation of foodborne bacterial illnesses.
