摘要:A parameter named creep energy dissipation rate is proposed to interpret the creep crack behavior. First of all, creep crack growth rate is experimentally determined under monotonic loading condition by utilizing compact tension (CT) specimens of 2.25CrlMo steel with variable effective thickness and initial crack length. The grooves are machined in both sides of the compact tension (CT) specimens. Results indicate that the values of the creep energy dissipation rate at creep crack initiation depend on the initial crack length. The creep energy dissipation rate increases when the increment of crack length Delta a increases and decreases with the increasing effective thickness of CT specimen. Nevertheless, the size dependence of the global creep energy dissipation rate is insignificant and thus can be ignored in practice.
