摘要：保罗·哈丁在2010年普利策获奖作品《修补匠》中讲述了三代人中父亲的缺场和儿子的追寻的故事。本文试图从信仰的迷失、生产方式变革以及女性主义思想冲击等方面阐释其深层原因。文章剖析了作品通过父子关系的故事所反映的社会问题以及男性在复杂的社会文化变革中的心理纠结,反映了在父权合法性遭到质疑的社会现实面前,男性在家庭生活中的困惑以及他们对信仰迷失的惶恐和对秩序的渴望。
This paper examines the father-son relation in Tinkers, the 2010 Pulitzer Prize winner, written by Paul Harding. The reasons for the father＇s escape from home and the son＇s agony in searching for an explanation are approached from three perspectives, loss of belief, change of production structure, and impact of feminism. This attempt unveils the socio-psychological twist both fathers and sons experienced with the change of times and social reality, which reflects the dilemma and confusion faced by men in family life, their fear in the world without belief and their longing for order in a patriarchal society where the father＇s authority is questioned and challenged.
