摘要:Poly (p-phenylene benzobisoxazole) (PBO) was synthesized and fabricated into film via a hot-press technique. The tribological properties of this PBO film sliding against steel were studied using two types of tribometer, and the effects of applied load, sliding speed, and ambient temperature on its tribological properties were investigated. It was found that PBO formed a layered structure during the hot-press process as it has a rigid molecule and exhibits lyotropic liquid crystalline behavior. This unique structure along with the excellent heat and chemical resistance provided a relatively low friction coefficient of about 0.20 and a good antiwear property (a specific wear rate of 1.6 × 10-15 m3/N - m), making it a promising material for application in the tribological fields.
