摘要:Using conventional methods, pigment particles are irregular fragments due to the rupture of crystals, which influences the color properties of the pigment. This study provides an alternative solution. In this study, we present a modified gel-casting method to synthesize submicron ZnFeCrO4 brown pigment, and we investigate the impacts of process parameters on both the phase composition and the microstructure. It is proven that submicron pigment with stable optical properties can be directly obtained. Meanwhile, the ZnFeCrO4 pigment has a uniform microstructure, integral crystal shape, and narrow size distribution with an average particle size of less than 0.5 mu m. Because of the simple process as well as the stable coloring performance of the synthesized pigment, the new synthesis method is considered an advanced and cost-effective alternative to the conventional method.
