摘要：Most recent studies mainly focus on the effect of firm characteristics on corporate ecological and social responsibility (CSR). The study adds to the literature by making the first examination of the effects of contextual and firm-level factors on CSR in Vietnam. Using a method called "multilevel modeling," the research results show unobservable factors at the provincial and district level account for 23.2% of the difference in CSR activities. Our results also confirm that CSR activity is boosted by innovative action, stronger relations with stakeholders, taking part in activities that change how technology is used, and exporting goods.
