摘要:A novel red-emitter (Pery-q)(3)Al based on the perylene bisimide derivative has been synthesized, into which an electron-transporting emitter unit aluminum(III) tris(8-hydroxyquinoline) (Alq(3)) is incorporated. A new synthetic route for preparing the uncomplexed ligand Pery-q via Gabriel reaction was adopted instead of the usual method of imidiazation. The absorption and fluorescence properties of both perylene bisimide ligand Pery-q and perylene bisimide metal complex (Pery-q)(3)Al were measured and discussed. There is little or weak interaction between 8-hydroxyquinoline and perylene bisimide units in the ground state. In the system of (Pery-q)(3)Al, the fluorescence of Alq3 unit was significantly quenched, which shows the existence of effective singlet energy transfer between the two chromophores in their excited states. (Pery-q)(3)Al has high T-g at 295 degreesC and good thermal stability. A red electroluminescent (EL) emission peak at 615 nm originated from characteristic perylene imide moiety was observed. A turn-on voltage as low as 6 V, and the maximum luminescence of 2200 cd/m(2) at the driving voltage of 15 V (0.61 cd/A) have been elaborated for (Pery-q)(3)Al based device. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V.
