摘要:Smart packaging technologies are revolutionizing the food industry by extending shelf life and enhancing quality monitoring through environmental responsiveness. Herein, a multifunctional controlled-release packaging film is developed by integrating acid-sensitive nanospheres assembled from copper ions, cinnamaldehyde (CA) and alizarin (ALI) into a matrix of carboxymethylcellulose and gelatin (CG), which can simultaneously monitor food spoilage while prolonging the storage period of fruits. The resulting CG-CA/ALI@Cu films demonstrate antibacterial and antioxidant properties. These attributes enable the effective preservation of fresh-cut pineapples for up to 7 days. Additionally, these films preserve the pH-responsive color-changing functionality of the ALI component, exhibiting noticeable color variations from purple to yellow during fruit storage. Most importantly, the UV-blocking ability, augmented barrier performance, enhanced mechanical qualities, high biocompatibility, and excellent biodegradability collectively reinforce the suitability of the CG-CA/ALI@Cu films for food packaging. This integrated food packaging platform offers a promising strategy for fruit preservation and freshness indication. ? 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.
