摘要：作为21世纪"中国话语"外宣的重要窗口,博物馆体现着国家软实力的提升。博物馆文物蕴含着丰富的文化信息,其英译是跨文化传播必不可少的一环。文章通过采集、整理上海博物馆中国古代青铜馆和中国古代陶瓷馆中414件文物及其解说词的英译语料,以功能翻译目的论为理据,对其进行了分类研究,探究青铜和陶瓷器英译的特点及翻译中存在的问题,并提出相应的翻译策略。
As a leading channel of international publicity to spread the Chinese culture in the 21st century,museums represent a symbol of boosting the country's soft power.Richly loaded with abundant information,the cultural relics,as well as their translations,are indispensable in today's intercultural communication.Grounded in Functionalist Skopos Theory of Translation,this study collected 414 text translations of cultural relics exhibited in Ancient Chinese Bronze Gallery and Ancient Chinese Ceramics Gallery of Shanghai Museum,analyzed the features and problems in translating these cultural relics,and provided pertinent translation solutions.
