摘要:We investigate the phase morphology evolution, thermal properties, mechanical properties, and shape memory behavior of polyether-block-amide/thermoplastic polyurethane (PEBA/TPU) blends prepared by melt blending. The phase morphology evolution reveals that the compatibility of the blend system is dependent on the blend composition. The blends exhibit from compatible systems to phase separation, and ultimately turn into compatible systems with increasing TPU content. The thermal properties show that the melting point and crystallization temperature of PEBA decrease, the crystallinity remains relatively unchanged with increasing amorphous TPU content. The crystallization and melting processes disappear with the excess addition of TPU, indicating the decreased chain motion of PEBA in the blends. The tensile strength and the elongation at break of PEBA/TPU blends increase first, then decrease and subsequently increase with increasing TPU content, which is attributed to the phase morphology evolution induced by the competitive relationships between hydrogen bonding interactions and van der Waals repulsions between PEBA and TPU. The compatibility and hydrogen bonding between PEBA and TPU are confirmed by dynamic mechanical analysis and FTIR measurements. The shape recovery ability of PEBA is enhanced, while the shape fixing ability remains relatively unchanged with the addition of TPU.
