摘要：元话语是"关于话语的话语",具有篇章组织的功能,受到许多语言学家的关注,一些学者借助语料处理软件,更有效地进行了数据的处理和分析,进一步对元语言进行了研究。本文自建中国英语专业本科毕业论文的摘要语料库和从Science Direct等数据库期刊中收集到的英语母语者撰写的英语语言文学方向论文摘要语料库,从元话语七大分类研究英语专业本科生在论文摘要中的元话语使用特点,发现学生写作元话语用词重复率较高、多样性不够,尤其对推测副词和言语行为动词的认识有所不足,对学术论文写作教学有借鉴意义。
Metadiscourse, defined as ＂discourse about discourse＂, functions as passage organizer. This special category of writing has fallen into concern of many linguists, some of which, during their study about metadiscourse, used data processing software to analyze its characteristic. Based on the corpus of self-collected data, this article compares metadiscourse in abstracts of English major students＇ dissertation and those of English natives＇ research paper from seven categories. It finds that students tend to use a limited range of words to achieve coherence in their abstract and that they lack sufficient accumulation of speculation adverbs and performative verbs.
