摘要:NOVELTY - A p-anisaldehyde and reducing agent are reacted in presence of normal reagent, to obtain a p-methoxybenzyl alcohol. The p-methoxybenzyl alcohol and thionyl chloride are reacted in solvent, to obtain an intermediate benzyl chloride. The obtained intermediate benzyl chloride and sodium cyanide are reacted in presence of phase transfer catalyst under alkali conditions, to obtain p-methoxyphenylacetonitrile. USE - Preparation of p-methoxyphenylacetonitrile. ADVANTAGE - The p-methoxyphenylacetonitrile is prepared with yield of 85% or more.
