摘要：NOVELTY - A water-absorbing thermoplastic elastomer comprises 100 pts. wt. thermoplastic elastomer, 20-60 pts. wt. water-absorbing material, 1-20 pts. wt. ionomer resin and 0.1-0.5 pt. wt. antioxidant. USE - Water-absorbing thermoplastic elastomer is used for waterproof plugging in subway, culverts and housing construction, and water-sensitive sensor, medical biomaterial, soil improver and Aquasorb (RTM: water retainer) (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The water-absorbing thermoplastic elastomer has excellent water absorptivity and high mechanical property, and is prepared by simple process. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of water-absorbing thermoplastic elastomer.
