摘要:The aromatics complex is an energy-intensive process. Heat exchanger network (HEN) is one of the most effective ways for energy saving. It has been applied in existing aromatics complex. However, a large amount of low grade heat is still wasted. Therefore, there is a motivation to use organic Rankine cycle (ORC) to recover low grade heat so that the energy efficiency of the whole plant can be further improved. This study aims to propose a new low grade heat recovery energy system for the aromatics complex by integrating the ORC with HEN. An extended mixed-integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) model is first developed for the proposed system. The energy, exergy, and economic (3E) analysis are performed to evaluate the whole system performance and verify the technical and economic feasibility. The results show that the optimised proposed energy system performs with 9.05 % of ORC energy efficiency, 380.95 MW of recovered heat from the process streams, 82.13 % of the overall exergy efficiency, and -155.30 k$/year of the total annual cost. These results reveal the significant potential in energy savings and provide guidance to the aromatics complex needing to be retrofitted or to a new plant. ? 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.
