摘要：亨利.詹姆斯的《金碗》具有一定的元小说性。讨论了元小说这一概念的适用范围,认为一部作品是否具有元小说性更多的取决于读者。因此,研究《金碗》这样一部现实主义作品的元虚构性在理论上是可能的,指出《金碗》的故事情节有双重含意,暗含了詹姆斯的小说创作理论,而女主人公麦琪身上折射出作者的影子,小说呈现出一定的自反性和元虚构性。
This paper reveals the metafictionality of The Golden Bowl by Henry James. It first discusses the concept of metafiction, holding that the metafctionality of a work depends more on the reader＇ s understanding, thus showing it is theoretically possible to explore the metafictionality of The Golden Bowl. a realistic novel of early twentieth century. Through an analysis of James＇ s novel theory, the paper discovers the double function of the textual strategy of The Golden Bowl, pointing out that it in fact dramatizes the novel theory of James, and the heroine Maggie is a reflection of the author himself, thus revealing the reflexivity and metafictionality of the novel.
