摘要:The objective of this work is to develop an advanced adsorption process to continuously recover boron from brines, named as the multicolumn simulated moving bed process. Firstly, the adsorption and desorption performances of boron on the commercially available N-methylglucamine resins are investigated, then, the cyclic adsorption and desorption operation conditions are optimized in single fixed bed. The cyclic process involves five steps, including boron recovery from brine, first water washing, boron desorption to obtain the boron-rich solution, second water washing, and resins transformation. Moreover, the effect of brine salinity on the cyclic process also is discussed. For the boron continuous recovery from brine in engineering strategy, the seven-column simulated moving bed process with four operating zones corresponding to the five steps in the cycle operation, is designed and demonstrated experimentally in the laboratory scale, including adsorption zone, first water washing zone, desorption zone, second water washing & resin transformation zone, and this multicolumn system was operated through the input & output stream ports switched synchronously from one column to next column along the fluid flow direction, and the experimental results demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the developed process for the boron continuous recovery from brine. ? 2022, The Authors.
