摘要:In contemporary design, integrating traditional cultural elements into modern products has become a key strategy for cultural preservation and innovation. This study addresses the gap in current cultural and creative products—superficial cultural representation without deep user interaction or quantitative evaluation—by transforming West Lake’s iconic cultural imagery (lotus leaves, ripples, stone pagodas) into a multifunctional ambient lamp via a user-centered framework. The research involved exploratory cultural analysis, qualitative interviews (35 participants) and a quantitative questionnaire (N=121). The key findings are as follows: 76% of the respondents favored lamps with innovative appearances, 79% preferred the brightness-adjustable function, and 64% attached importance to ease of cleaning. The final prototype embodies the aesthetic characteristics of West Lake, featuring a bionic lotus leaf shape, a ripple-patterned base and a stone pagoda-inspired form, coupled with LED dimming and aromatherapy functions. Evaluation employs the System Usability Scale (SUS) for functionality, customized Likert scales for cultural resonance/aesthetics, and semi-structured interviews for subjective experiences. The study contributes a user-centered methodology for cultural-to-design translation, tailored evaluation criteria for cultural products, and empirical insights into consumer expectations. Practically, it offers actionable guidance for balancing cultural integrity and commercial viability. This holistic approach paves the way for meaningful cultural products, with future work focusing on evaluation implementation and methodology adaptation. ?
