摘要：Benzophenones without strong electron-releasing substituents were reduced into the corresponding benzhydrols at room temperature in moderate to good yields with Zn-NaOH-95% ethanol under ultrasound irradiation. This method is also propitious to the synthesis of 3-phenylphthalide and its derivates. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
